Objectives:
I. Content objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

read a text about hot-air balloons and define what a hot-air balloon is.

identify 3 main parts of hot-air balloons and how they work.
II. Language Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

use words related to hot-air balloons to describe them orally.
-
use airship-related words to make a presentation and in writing a paragraph.
III. Target language:

Vocabulary: dense, rise, float (on water), envelope, valve, burner, propane gas,
wicker basket
IV. Anticipated problems:
-
Students might not have many ideas about airships for their presentation and
writing about airships.

There might be not enough devices for students to do research on airships.
V. Proposed solutions

The teacher will prepare some pictures and/ or a video of some airship models to
show students.

The teacher can also provide students with pieces of information about some
famous airships in the world.
VI. Assessment: Students will be assessed through three comprehension exercises:

matching the pictures with the paragraphs
-
labeling pictures with the words
-
answer the questions about the text
VII. Teaching aids:
