Disagreeing: (Sorry, but) I don’t agree/I disagree.

not sure.

2. Set objectives
Aims: introduce the objectives of the lesson with a can-do statement.

3. Pre-speaking
Aims: to learn some phrases about agreeing and disagreeing.
Set the scene:

T puts Ss into pairs and tells them
to work together to describe the
photo.

Ss should talk about where they
think the three people are (in the
park) and what they are doing
(having a picnic).

T says “Max, Dad and Eva are
discussing the pros and cons of
smartphones. Listen and find out
who is/isn’t a fan of smartphones.”
Exercise 1: Read or listen to Part
1 of the conversation between
Max, Eva and their dad. Who is/
isn’t a fan of smartphones?
Answers:
Max and Eva are fans of smartphones.
Dad isn’t.
