A. Objectives:
1. Knowledge:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to listen and read for specific information about
‘Festivals in Viet Nam’, practice listening and speaking with the lexical items related to ‘Festivals in
Viet Nam’.
2. Skills: develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
3. Attitude: Educate the pride of and maintain good festivals in Viet Nam.
B. Preparation:
- Materials: Students’ books, teacher’s book, laptop, speaker and projector.
- Method: T- WC, individual work, pair work and group work.

column.
- If the letter is at the

- If the letter is the middle, they
will get 2p
- If the letter is at the end, they
will get 3p
III. New lesson - Presentation (10')
1. Vocabulary
- Teacher use different techniques to teach vocabulary
(situation, realia)
- Follow the seven steps of teaching vocabulary
* Checking vocab: Recall
- oriental (a)
- reunion (n)
- regret (v)
- royal court music (n)
- ceremony (n)
- Repeat in chorus and individually
- Copy all the words
2. Listen and read
* Set the scenes:
Ask Ss to open their books and look at the picture and
the heading Which festival should I see? Ask them
some questions:
Where are Duong and Peter?
What are they doing?
What might they be talking about?
Ss answer the questions as a class.
Ss answer questions as a class. T plays the
recording and has Ss follow along. T may
want to ask Ss to track the dialogue with
their fingers as they listen to the
recording. Then come back to the earlier
questions and have Ss answer them again.
Do not give correction at this stage.

independently. Play the recording once or twice more.
Pause the recording at the appropriate places if Ss need
