I. THE IMPERSONAL PASSIVE (Thể bị động không ngôi)
- Câu bị động không ngôi được dùng để diễn đạt ý kiến của người khác.
- Câu bị động không ngôi thường chứa những động từ tường thuật như:
say, think, believe, know, hope,
expect, report, understand, claim,... ở dạng quá khứ phân từ (VpII)
S1 +think/ expect/ believe/ estimate/ say/ reported + that + S2 + V2 + O
a. It is thought/ expected/ believed/ estimated/ said/ reported that + S2 + V2 + O
b. S2 is thought/ expected/ believed/ estimated/ said/ reported + to V2
+ to have + V2 p2
+ to be V2 - ing
+ to have + been + V2- ing
Ex:
People think he
drives
dangerously.
It’s thought that he drives dangerously.
He is thought to drive dangerously.
People say he
was
a teacher.
It’s said that he was a teacher.
He is said to have been a teacher.
They think that he
worked
very hard last year.
He is thought to have worked very hard last year.
It is thought that he worked very hard last year.
II. SUGGEST + V-ING/ CLAUSE WITH “SHOULD”
(Cách dùng động từ suggest)
S + suggest + V-ing
S + suggest + (that)
+ S +
(should) + V nguyên mẫu
Ta sử dụng cấu trúc với
“suggest”
khi đưa ra một đề xuất, ý kiến.
Cấu trúc
“suggest + V-ing
” được dùng để nói chung chung, không ám chỉ một người cụ thể nào.
Cấu trúc
“suggest that + S + V”
khi muốn khuyên một người hoặc một nhóm người cụ thể.
Ex:
Linda suggested studying at the school library.
Linda suggested we should study at the school library.
I suggest that we should eat out on this especial occasion.
My dad suggested doing all the housework for my mom.
