Simple to ask about routines.

Contents
1. Warm-up
Aims: to attract Ss’ attention to the lesson, review the previous lesson and
lead to the new lesson.
Set the scene

T asks Ss to work in groups of 4.

Before doing the activity, T asks Ss
to review the affirmative and
negative forms of Present Simple.
-
In each group, 2 Ss will make 2
affirmative sentences and 2 other
Ss will make 2 negative sentences
about their daily routines.

T walks around the checks the
sentences for Ss.

Suggested answers:
I get up at 6 a.m.

2. Objectives
Aims: to introduce the objectives of the lesson with a can-do statement.

I can ask about routines using Present simple.
3. Presentation
Aims: to teach the form of questions and short answers in Present Simple.
Set the scene:
-
Max has a daydream. Listen and
find in which city he is in his
dream.
-
T plays the audio track 3.03 and
asks Ss to listen and answer the
question.
-
Ss answer and explain why.
-
T explains that we can use the
informal language “Hey, mate” to
Exercise 1: Listen. In which city is
Max in his daydream?
Answer: New York. ( Because when
being asked “Do you like New York?”,
Max says “It’s great to be here.” )
