I. Objectives:
1.
Content objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

differentiate aerobic exercises and anaerobic exercises in terms of muscles
required, burning of fat and carbohydrates.

Identify the benefits of aerobic exercises and anaerobic exercises.
2.
Language Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
-
use exercises-related vocabulary words in a discussion (e.g. muscles,
carbohydrates, weightlifting, sit-ups, push-ups, burn fat) and in writing a
paragraph.
3.
Target language:

Vocabulary: muscles, carbohydrates, weightlifting, sit-ups, push-ups, burn fat

II.Anticipated problems
-
Students may have challenges in remembering the spellings and pronunciation of
some long words such as aerobic, anaerobic, carbohydrates.

Students may have difficulties in understanding the differences between the two
kinds of exercises without seeing the visuals.
III.Proposed solutions
-
Model the long words slowly and separate the words into individual sounds/
phonemes so that they can remember them more easily.
-
For the content challenge: show the students two short videos: one about aerobic
and one about anaerobic and pause after each move to ask questions. I will make
sure students understand the differences by watching the videos first.
IV.Assessment: Students will be assessed through two comprehension exercises

Labelling photos with aerobic or anaerobic
-
Choose A for aerobic and AN for Anaerobic or both.

They will also talk about the differences between the two exercises orally.
