I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use Present
Simple to talk about pets and their habits.

Contents
1. Warm-up
Aims: to attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and teach some words about pets.

Ss have in their family.

T leads to Exercise 1.

T shows pictures of 5 pets in
Exercise 1 for SS to name them.

T asks Ss to read the words in
the box, then explains the new
words where necessary.

more pets then collects ideas.
Review of Animals vocabulary
Suggested answer: dog, cat, hamster,
tortoise.
Exercise 1: In groups, study the
Vocabulary box. How many more
pets can you think of in 2
minutes? Have you got a family
pet?
2. Objectives
Aims: introduce the objectives of the lesson with a can-do statement.

3. Presentation
Aims: to teach how to use Present Simple to talk about pets and their habits in
affirmative and negative sentences and also learn how to pronounce –s/-es
endings.
