INTRODUCTION
Date of teaching: September 9th, 2022 Period:1
I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to
- greet other people by using phrases to greet, talk about weather by using adjectives referring to the weather and introduce themselves and the others.
- revise what they studied then complete their own evaluation
- be self-aware of learning and doing the exercises.
II. LANGUAGE FOCUS:
- Vocabulary: words related to greeting, weather, and introduction about oneself
- Structures: questions and answers: What is the weather like? What’s your name?
III. TEACHING AIDS:
- Pictures used to warm up and teach vocabulary
- Laptop, projector/TV
- Song mp4 about greeting.
IV. PROCEDURES:

1. WARM-UP: (5’) Ss will be able to remind their vocabulary about hobbies and interests then find out the topic of the lesson. | |||||||||||||||||
Game “Bingo”
- Give instruction: - Draw a table with 9 grids - Answer the question “What do you like doing in your free time?” - Show pictures on the slide (1 minutes) - Ask students to compare their vocabulary and the pictures shown if they are the same - Finally, teacher announce the winner and call some students for the answers of the pictures in the slide (high level) - Teacher gives the answers ( low/ mid level) (Teacher may give mark for good answers) - Lead students in new lesson
| - Fill in the table with students’ own vocabulary - Look at the pictures and compare if the words in the table are the same as the pictures shown. One is alike, put a tick on the grid. If you all get 9 sticks, you say “Bingo” and become the winner.

2. PRESENTATION (10’) Ss will be able to: - remind vocabulary about hobbies and interests - understand the meaning of all vocabulary match them with the pictures through listening | |||||||||||||||||
Activity 1: Match the words in the box with pictures 1–15. Then listen and check. - Ask students to open the book and look at the pictures in exercise 1 (p.6) - Have students work in pairs to match the words with the pictures. Then teacher uses pictures and explanation to present new words. *Vocabulary: 1. skateboarding (n) 2. photography (n) 3. cycling (n)
- Play the audio track 1.02 and ask students to listen and finish matching - Explain more words if students want to know - Have students check the answers in pairs - Call some pairs for the answers and check if they are correct - Ask students “Which activity do you like doing most?” (high level)

2. PRACTICE: Ss will be able to - greet other people by using different phrases for greetings with different people. - ask and answer about the weather by filling in the missing letters of adjectives referring to the weather. | |||||||||||||||||
ACTIVITY 1: - Let Ss read the sentences carefully and do the task. - Check the answer with the class - Elicit the use of these phrases
ACTIVITY 2: - Let Ss look at the picture and write down the missing letters after listening to a song about the weather - Check the answer with the class
