Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3)
I. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Greet and self- introduction
- Language focus: Hello, I’m + name.

- Vocabulary:
hello, hi, I’m, nice to meet you

2. Competence:
- Communication, ability to use language (work in groups, talk about greeting)
- Ability to solve problems (play the games)
- Cooperation: (work in groups/ pairs)
- Using language to greet and self- introduction.
- Using knowledge to do exercises

- Students be more friendly and confident in communicate with their friends and other people.
4. Skills:
- Listening and speaking

- Lesson plan, book, CD, stereo.
III. Methods:
- Communicative approach, games activities, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, discussion group, technical present.
IV. Procedures.

A. Warm up (5’) - Let Ss introduce some information about themselves (maybe in Vietnamese) and introduces oneself in English. B. New lesson (30’) Task 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 6. - Ask Ss the name of the characters and what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. Task 2: Point and say - Have pupils look at the picture. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Present the situation. - Use flashcards to teach the greetings in the speech bubbles. -Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases. Task 3: Let’s sing. - Put the large piece of paper with the song on the board. - Read the song. - Divide the class to two and sing the song. - Call on some volunteers to sing the song. C. Production (3’) - Summary the lesson. D. Homework (2’) - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. |
