I. Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Gain lexical vocabulary related to subjects
- Pronounce correctly /ct/ sound
- Ask and answer about subjects
- Use countable/uncountable, singular/ plural nouns correctly
- Improve Speaking, Listening and Writing skill
II. Procedures

New lesson VOCABULARY - Teach S new words - Check understanding - Require S to repeat few times for each - Practice with sentences Activity: Look, listen and repeat - Let S listen to the conversation - Practice the dialogue - Elicit structure: What subject do you have? => I have + subject What subjects do you have on + day of the week? => I have + subject + on + day of the week - Read example Let’s practice - Ask S by structure - Require S to answer about him/herself Activity: Point and say - Let S listen to the example - Tell S look at pictures and practice by structure Activity: Listen and tick - Tell S listen and put tick on the right picture - Play the audio - Check Activity: Look and write - Ask S to look at the picture then write the missing words/ phrases - Give S time to do the task - Check spelling PRONUNCIATION - Introduce the sound - Help S understand how to pronounce /ct/ - Practice with accompanying words - Ask S to repeat few times Activity: Let’s sing - Play the tape to let S listen to the song - Help S practice reading the lyrics EXTENDED KNOWLEDGE - Teach S about: nouns - Explain for S what countable/ uncountable is - Teach S use of: a/ an a + countable nouns (starting with consonants) an + countable nouns (starting with vowels) - Teach S how to transform from a singular to a plural noun (T also looks for it by yourself) + adding –s in the end of the nouns + adding –es in the end of the nouns that contain the last letter: s, sh, ch, o, z, x + nouns end with f/fe => replace by –ves + nouns end with us => replace by –i + …. - Give S several tasks to help S practice (T can search on the Internet or take a look at New Grammar Time 2) 3. Summary: - Consolidate the content of the lesson - Learn and write new words and structures - Home work: Give S some exercise about transforming from singular to plural |
