I. Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ask and answer what someone did in the past
- Ask and answer about activities in a party
- Know how to pronounce –ed sound
- Improve Speaking, Listening and Writing skill
II. Procedures

1. Warm – up: - Check HW 2. New lesson PRONUNCIATION - Teach S how to pronounce –ed (T prepares by yourself) /t/ all the verbs end with voiceless /d/ all verbs end with voiced /id/ all verbs end with t, d - Give S some examples for each to practice VOCABULARY - Teach S new words: + Open slide 4 to teach new words first + Then move to slide 15 to keep supplying S words - Check understanding - Require S to repeat few times for each Activity: Look, listen and repeat - Back to slide 6 and 7 - Let S listen to the conversation - Practice the dialogue
- Open slide 17 18 19 20 - Let S listen to the conversation - Practice the dialogue Sum up: - Elicit all structures that S will practice through lesson: (1) Did you….? => Yes, I did/ No, I didn’t (2) What did you do at the party? => We + V_ed/ P1
Activity: Point and say - Open slide 9 to practice (1) first - Show S the example - Tell S look at pictures and practice by structure (T asks, S answers)
- Open slide 21, 22 to practice (2) - Show S the example - Help S to read through all the activities first - Tell S look at pictures and practice by structure (T asks, S answers) - Focus on S’ pronunciation with –ed sound Activity: Listen and tick Yes or No - Open slide 10 - Tell S listen to the question and the answer from the speakers to tick on Yes or No - Play the audio - Check Activity: Read and complete - Ask S to complete the text by given words (each word can be used one time only) - Give S time to do the task - Check Activity: Listen and circle a or b - Open slide 23 - Tell S listen to circle a or b to complete sentences - Play the audio - Check Activity: Write about you - Tell S read the questions and answer about him/ herself (in full sentences) - Check
SPEAKING: Talk about your last event - Ask S some questions about his/ her last event + What was the recent event that you took part in? + How did you get there? + Who did you go with? + What did you do there? + Did you (eat birthday cake/ sing/ dance/…)…? + How was it? + …. Activity: Let’s sing - Open slide 13 - Play the song for S to listen
3. Summary: - Consolidate the content of the lesson - Learn and write new words and structures - Home work Give S some exercise about Past Simple with tobe and regular verbs Tell S to prepare The list of Irregular verbs in English |
