b. Content: Have some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the new class.

c. Output: Having a chance to speak English and focus on the topic of the lesson…

Chatting: Greeting

1. Transferring and giving the learning task

- T introduces himself/ herself

- T may introduce some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the new class… 

- Have Ss to introduce themselves.

2. Doing the task

- Ss listen and learn how to introduce themselves.

3. Reporting the task result and discuss

- T calls Ss to introduce themselves.

- T encourages Ss to talk in English as much as possible

4. Giving the remarks to their doing the task

- T gives feedback.

- Lead to the first unit of the new school year.

- Introduce themselves (name; age; address; likes; dislikes… friends…) 

Activity 2: Form the knowledge

a. Aim: 

- To set the context for the introductory;

- To introduce the topic of the unit, the vocabulary, the sounds, and the grammar points to be learned.

b. Content: Some brief notes; Something about England, English. Introduce “i-learn smart world”- student’s book

c. Output: Ss learn something about England, English; Learn how to use “i-learn smart world”- student’s book

2. “i-Learn smart world” - Student book: 

- How many units are there in “i-learn smart world”- student’s book?

- What are they about?

* Suggested answer: 

1. It located in North-west coast of Europe with very mild weather not too hot but not too cold. It consists of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. It’s official name is the UK. Each part has its own flag of UK.

2. English is an international language. Hundreds of million people speak English in the world. 

3. 400 million people speak English as their first language, 

4. 600 million people speak English as their second language or first foreign language. 

5. Because it helps me develop in the future.

6. It’s very important, useful, interesting. It is the means of communication to one another.

- Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class.

• Ss work individually and answer it

3. Reporting the task result and discuss

•  T calls Ss to answer the questions and shares about their free time if possible

4. Giving the remarks to their doing the task

- T leads Ss to the new lesson.

* Questions:

- What do you often do in your free time?

- How much time do you spend doing it?

- Do you find it useful?

Activity 2: Form the new knowledge

a.  Aim: Students can know about free time activities

b. Content: 

-  Vocabulary study (build models, bake cakes, make vlogs, read comics, play online games, collect soccer stickers).

-  Speaking: Note more than 3 hobbies you know and discuss if you like them.

c. Output: Ss know how to pronounce the new words correctly and use them in appropriate situations.

d.  Process:

• Teaching vocabulary

1. Transferring and giving the learning task

- T shows some pictures to elicit the new words from Ss. Let Ss guess then introduce new words to Ss

2. Doing the task

- Ss work individually and do it

- Ss write the new words in notebooks

3. Reporting the task result and discuss

- T calls some Ss to read the new words individually.

4. Giving the remarks to their doing the task

- T corrects and gives feedback

Task a:

- T demonstrates the activity, using the example (using DCR).

- Have Ss number the pictures.

- T divides class into pairs and has them check their answers with their partners.

- T calls Ss to give answers (read or write).

- Check answers as a whole class.

- Play audio (CD1 – Track 02) (using DCR). Have Ss listen and repeat.

- Correct Ss’ pronunciation.

Task b. 

- T has Ss talk in pairs about their hobbies using the new words and three other hobbies they know.

- Remind Ss to use the structure:

        Do you like +V.ing …?

- Ss work in pairs to do this task

- Have Ss share their ideas in front of the class.

- Give feedback and evaluation.
