UNIT 3: THIS IS TONY
Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3)
I. Objectives.
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Pronounce the sounds of the letters t and y in the words Tony and yes respectively.
- Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words Tony and yes. Say the chant Is
that Nam?
- Sentence Patterns: Revision
- Vocabulary: Revision
2. Skills.
- Listening, writing and speaking.
3. Attitude/ Quality:
- Ss confident in communicate with their friends.
- Ss love English, friends and teacher.
4. Forming competence:
- Ss pronounce the sounds of the letters t and y
- Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends.
II. Methods:
- Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching
methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising,
discussion group, technical present....
III. Preparation.
1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book.
2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks.

- Greet the class in the same way that the
Ss have learnt in Lesson 2, and have
them to reply.
- Get Ss recite the chant on page 20.
Task 1: Listen and repeat.
- Have Ss open their books page 22.
- Produce the sound of the letter t in the
word Tony and that of the letter y in the
word Yes.
- Place the large piece of paper with the
sentences written on it on the board.
- Teach the new words and phrases with
Tony and yes.
Is that Tony?
Yes, it is.
- Play the tape, and clap the rhythms.
- Play the tape again.
- Reply.
- Recite the chant.
- Open their books.
- Listen.
- Listen.
- Listen and read.
- Listen and repeat.
- Listen and clap.
- Read.
