I. OBJECTIVES
1. Competences
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to
- memorize the names of some inventions and their uses
- memorize the structures used to talk about the uses of inventions
- use the given ideas and structures to talk about the uses of some inventions
- Make an outline and use the given structures to give a presentation about their invention.
2. Qualities

- be more knowledgeable or updated about the mordern world

III. Procedure
A. Before Class ( Lesson plan for online class)
1. Activity 1: Warm-up –Look at the pictures and try to guess the inventions
a. Aim: Students get to know 5 words: e-readers, 3D printing, driverless cars, the internet, robots
b. Content: Teacher asks students to look at the pictures and tell the name of the inventions.
c. Expected products:
1. The internet 2. E-readers 3. Robots 4. 3D printing 5. Driverless cars
d. Steps:
- T askes students to look at the pictures, tell the name of the inventions
- Ss work individually online.
- T shows the answers, say in Vietnamese.
- T leads in the lesson.
2. Activity 2: Match the inventions with their main uses
a. Aim: Students can
- Memorize the name of 5 inventions : e-readers, 3D printing, driverless cars, the internet, robots
- Get to know the meaning of following words: distance, effectively, store, dimensional
- Memorize the main uses of 5 inventions
b. Content: Teacher asks students to match the inventions with their main uses.
c. Expected products:
1. A 2. D 3. B 4. E 5. C
d. Steps
- T askes students to match the inventions with their main uses
- Ss work individually online.
- T shows the answers, explains some key words in Vietnamese.
3. Activity 3: Talk about the uses of these inventions
a. Aim: Students can memorize and use the structrues to talk about the uses of 5 inventions
b. Content: Teacher asks students to talk about the uses of these inventions by using 3 useful structures
c. Expected products:
Example :
The internet helps/ allows/ enables us to communicate over long distances.
We/ People can use the internet to communicate over long distances.
The internet is used for communication/ communicating over long distances
d. Steps
