Wish clause exercises

1. Form

      S₁ + wish/wishes+ S₂ +would/could/might+ V_.

_{2. Use}

- ước muốn 1 dùng để diễn tả những mong muốn phù hợp với thực tế CÓ khả năng xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.

- ước muốn 1  dùng để diễn tả mong muốn về những thay đổi theo chiều hướng tích cực nhằm cải thiện những thói quen xấu hoặc trạng thái không tốt ở hiện tại.

II. Câu ước muốn KHÔNG thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.(ước muốn 2)

EX: I wish I were a famous person.

      She wishes her husband earned a lot of money now.

1. Form

               S₁ + wish/wishes + S₂ + V-ed/2

-         Động từ tobe có thể chia là “ were ” cho tất cả các ngôi.

2. Use

- ước muốn 2 dùng để diễn tả những mong muốn trái ngược với thực tế, KHÔNG CÓ khả năng xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.

III. Câu ước muốn KHÔNG thể xảy ra ở QUÁ KHỨ.

EX: He wishes he hadn’t gone to the meeting yesterday.

      I wish I had reviewed all the lessons carefully last night.

       S₁ + wish/wishes + S₂  + had (not) + V_ED/3

2. Use

- Dùng để diễn tả những giả định trái ngược với quá khứ, KHÔNG có khả năng xảy ra ở quá khứ.

NOTE: câu ước muốn 3 thường có dấu hiệu thời gian thuộc về quá khứ hoặc động từ ở câu liên đới chia ở quá khứ.
