INTRODUCTION

I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to
+ remember and say some new words: name of characters of English book grade; Know the syllabus and books of grade English 3.
+ Know some classroom languages.
- Knowledge:
+ Vocabulary: Classroom language: stand up, sit down, be quiet, hands up, hands down, don’t be late, look, listen, repeat!

- Skills: Listening and speaking skills
- Attribute: To make Ss interested in learning English.
II. TEACHING AIDS
1. Teacher’s: projector, blackboard, chalks and textbook, speaker.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. PROCEDURE
1. Organization (1’)

1. Introduce the syllabus of English grade 3. (10’) * Goal: Help students to know about the syllabus of English grade 3. * Input: Book map page 4 and 5. * Outcome: Pupils can know about the syllabus of English grade 3. | |
* Procedure: - Teacher asks Ss to look at the book map on page 4 and 5 and count how many units. - T introduces about the syllabus of English grade 3. - The syllabus: + Total weeks: 35 weeks/ two semesters with 140 periods. + The first semester: 18 weeks with 4 periods per week. Total periods are 72 periods. + The second semester: 17 weeks with 4 periods per week. Total periods are 68 periods. + Starter + 20 units + 4 reviews + 4 fun time + test and correcting test. |

2. Introduce the book of English grade 3 and the names of the main characters in the book. (8’) * Goal: Help students to know about book of English grade 3 and the names of the main characters in the book. * Input: Book map page 4 and 5. * Outcome: Pupils can remember the names of the main characters in the book. | |
* Procedure: - Teacher asks and Ss look at the book, answer the questions. (in Vietnamese) 1. What page can you see the book map? 2. What page can you see the glossary? 3. Where can you see the characters in the book? - T asks Ps to open the book on page 6. - Teacher introduces the name of the characters one by one: Ms Hoa, Mr. Long, Ben, Bill, Linh, Lucy, Mai, Mary, Minh, Nam. - Ss practise saying the name of the characters. * Game: Passing the ball -T tells the rules: Ps passes the ball to the next one until the music stops. The student holds the ball at this time will identify 1 character given by the teacher. |
