GRAMMAR: PASSIVE VOICE
PRONUNCIATION: STRESS PARTTERN
I. Objectives:
1.Knowledge:
- Pronunciation: stress in three syllable words.
- Passive voice.
2. Skills:
- writing, reading.
3.Abilities: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
+ Practise reading the three syllable words.
+ revise the form of passive voice.
II. Method:
- Integrated (individual, pair, group…..), Communicative approach.

- Students: Books, preparation at home.
IV. Content:
A. Stress of the three syllable words.
(1). Nouns and adjs of 3 syllables:
. If the final syllable contains a short vowel and the middle contains a long vowel or diphthong, or it ends with more than one consonant, the middle syllable will be stressed.
ex: disaster, potatoes tomato…
ex: important, abnormal, fantastic…
. If the final syllable contains a short vowel and the middle syllable contains a short vowel and ends with more than one consonant, the first syllables is stressed.
ex: cinema, emperor,quantity…
(2). Verbs of 3 syllables.
. If the last syllable contains a short vowel and ends with not more than one consonant, that syllable will be unstressed, and the stress will be placed on the preceding syllable.
ex: encounter, determine…
. If the final syllable contains a long vowel or diphthong, or ends with more than one consonant, that syllables will be stressed.
ex: entertain, interrupt…

A: S + V (transitive) + O.
P: S + be + Vp2 + (by O)
ex:
I clean my house everyday.
=> My house is cleaned everyday
