UNIT 12 - ROBOTS

- Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to read about an international robot show and talk about what robots can do.
- Teaching aids and materials:
- Teacher’s aids: Tiếng Anh 6 Global Success Student’s Book and Teacher’s book, Class CDs, Projector/Interactive Whiteboard /TV (if any), PowerPoint slides.
- Students’ aids: Tiếng Anh 6 Global Success Student’s Book, Workbook, Notebook.
- Procedure:

1.Warm-up: (5 minutes) - Greeting - Show a short video about robots. - Ask students some question: + What do you see in this video? + What can the robot do?
2. Reading (20 minutes) I. Pre-reading: (10 minutes) Activity 1: (3 minutes) - Ask students to work in pairs and discuss the questions 1. What types of robots are there? - There are home robots, teacher robots and worker robots. 2. What robots are children interested in? - The children are interested in teacher robots.
Activity 2: (5 minutes)
ex: I do exercise every day to improve my health.
II. While-reading: (12 minutes) *Task 2: Read the text and choose the best answer to each of the questions (7 minutes) - Ask: “How many questions are there in this task?” -> There are 4 questions. - Say: “To do task 2, you must read the questions and the options carefully, identify the key word in each question.”

*Task 3: Read the text again and fill the table below: (5 minutes) - Give instruction Ask students to read the text again and do task 3 in 3 minutes

3. Speaking: (18 minutes) *Task 4. Work in pairs. Discuss what you think robots can do in the following places: (13 minutes) - Asks students to work in pairs and complete the table Key:
*Task 5. Work in groups. Take turns to talk about robots and what you think they can do. (5 minutes) - Ask students to work in groups and discuss the question: “Can you think of other types of robots?”
4. Homework Assignment: (2 minutes) - Ask students to learn all new words by heart and prepare the next lesson | .
