CONDITIONAL SENTENCES – CÂU ĐIỀU KIỆN
I. Conditional sentences type 0
1. Cách dùng
- Câu điều kiện loại 0 được dùng để diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên hoặc một chân lý, thói quen sẽ xảy ra khi điều kiện được đề cập xảy ra trước.
2. Công thức

Ex: Water freezes if the temperature falls below zero.
I take medicine if I’m sick.
If she stays up late, she gets tired.

II. Conditional sentences type 1
1. Cách dùng
- Câu điều kiện loại 1 dùng để nêu lên một giả thiết có thật, có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.
2. Công thức
If clause | Main clause |
If + S + V(s/es) | S + will/ can/ may … + V

Ex: If you come into my garden, my dog will bite you.
I will go fishing if it is sunny.
*Chú ý:
- Để đưa ra lời chỉ dẫn, yêu cầu hoặc mệnh lệnh, ta có thể rút gọn:
If + S + V (hiện tại đơn), V/don't V+ ...
Ex: If you know the answer, raise your hand.
If you need help, don't hesitate to call me.
V/Don't + V+ O + or + S + will + V
Ex: Hurry up or you will miss the last bus. = If you don't hurry up, you will miss the last bus.
- Đảo ngữ: If + S + V (s/es) + … = Should + S + Vo + …
Ex: If he calls me, I’ll answer immediately = Should he call me, I’ll answer immediately.
- Unless = If... not (trừ khi) trong đó "Unless" luôn đi với mệnh đề khẳng định
